Nemetschek North America Launches VectorWorks Spotlight 2008

Nemetschek North America has announced the release of the latest upgrade of VectorWorks Spotlight, its comprehensive, cross-platform CAD program for designing lighting, scenery, sets, live concerts, corporate events, theatrical productions, and exhibit designs.

VectorWorks Spotlight 2008 improved beam geometry, the ability to create shutter cuts, and rotatable 2D views.

“VectorWorks Spotlight 2008 was designed to think like designers do. So they can do what they like to do best—design,” says Nemetschek N.A. CEO Sean Flaherty.

Additionally, VectorWorks Spotlight 2008 offers enhancements to collaboration features that make it easy to work well with others. Drawings, digital images, and graphics can be imported and exported seamlessly with common file formats such as DXF/DWG and PDF. Models in Spotlight 2008 can also be moved into ESP Vision for visualization and simulation. “VectorWorks Spotlight 2008 heralds a new year of groundbreaking changes for the VectorWorks line of products and a whole new collection of cutting-edge technology for our users,” says Paul Pharr, Nemetschek North America’s chief technology officer. “As always, we’ve listened to user feedback, so users will see many requests incorporated in the latest version of VectorWorks. And we look forward to receiving feedback on VectorWorks 2008.”

VectorWorks 2008 also features upgrades to the entire line of VectorWorks products including Designer, Architect, Landmark, Fundamentals, Machine Design, and RenderWorks.
