Exclusive First Look: Digital Projection (DPI) E-Vision WXGA-600

I had the pleasure of catching up with the folks at Digital Projection (DPI) last week in New York, as the company participated in a road show being held at the Affinia Manhattan by the manufacturer’s rep, Sapphire.

The best part: I had an exclusive first peek (to the media, anyway) at the new E-Vision WXGA-600 single-chip DLP projector the company plans to officially launch at Infocomm. Basically, it’s a US version of its European counterpart. This true multi-use unit is in the range of conference room-type projectors—with 6,000-lumen output, 2,000:1 contrast ratio, WXGA resolution, and swappable color wheels—but there’s no telling where it might come in handy to all sorts of designers and installers, especially with the proposed list of $6,500.
