Corporate Event Utilizing Audience Encapsulation℠

Task: Design an event environment that would engage and captivate 360 attendees from around the world at a three day event at a historic hotel.

Project: a major transformation of the event environment needed to be undertaken.

The event room presented many interesting architectural elements and a very difficult room configuration that would impact the design of the event. The room was round and domed with a built-in stage area in the front, with windows on one side. Coupled with the fact that there was only one entrance for attendees that was located at the front of the room (in close proximity to the stage), it was going to be a challenge to get larger presentation structures into the room. In addition, the rear of the room had to be utilized as a seating area that had to also transition into a break room area for attendees.

Showcore had to present a seamless room design that would enable multiple projection environments, so our technical staff set its sights on redesigning and working around the outdated stage area for the presentation of visual data. To deliver Audience Encapsulation, we built an entirely new and unique stage and screen structure that would provide a projection surface all in one design element. By leveraging a warping technology, we could now employ a massive 70’ video surface that could now make use of elevated screen viewing surfaces for all attendees. In addition, this new structure would also disguise the stage and entrance area of the venue.

Audio Visual Design
Since the rigging options were limited, technicians had to build a new rigging structure to support all of the audio, video, and lighting equipment. Because of the curved room, all projection systems had to be designed and calibrated to ensure visual clarity for all attendee sightlines. Technicians also blended in a transitional elevated platform in the back of the event room to house multiple projection systems, which also enabled attendee seating to be placed underneath the structure.

Set & Stage Design
All the sets and screens had to be configurable and modular while presenting a seamless, smooth presentation surface. This custom design was built to exacting specifications for the logistical move and the on-site construction process. All design elements were shipped to arrive onsite in tandem with the technical crew and built onsite in less than a day.

Production Design
Our innovative production design provided five depths-of-field to stimulate attendees and reduce eye fatigue. The entire stage and presentation area was pixel-mapped and warped to display visual design elements so it would be pronounced and impactful to the audience.
