Eclipse Services Solves Keynote Presentation Crisis!

London, UK based Eclipse Services’ new high quality advanced videoconferencing solution saved the day at a recent conference for multinational engineering and project management consultancy AMEC …. When at the last minute their keynote speaker was told by his doctors not to fly.

Ottawa, Canada based global bio-energy products industry expert Don G Roberts, was due to address the conference staged at Stationers’ Hall (full name The Worshipful Company of Stationers & Newspaper Makers) in central London, when with less than 24 hours’ notice before his scheduled departure, he received the medical advice.

Eclipse, which manages all the venue’s ‘in-house’ AV and technical requirements, thought quickly and stepped in with their new videoconferencing service as the perfect solution.

The Eclipse team supported Roberts and created the means to enable him to be linked from a laptop at his home in Ottawa to the conference in London.

He was able to complete his entire PowerPoint presentation, which was beamed onto a large projection screen in Stationers’ Hall for all delegates to clearly see, together with his image on screen as if he was in the room himself.

Once the presentation was finished he stayed online and in the meeting, able to fully interact with the conference, ask and answer questions and make comments, etc.

The quality of the video call was enhanced thanks to Stationers’ Hall's recent investment in a 100 Mb data line for videoconferencing and other purposes requiring high speed and clean internet connections ... and also because Eclipse has invested in this latest VC technology which is available to all their clients.

It allows multiple sites to be connected together securely,  using any video enabled device and run via a fast, clean, stable connection with no latency.

The AMEC event was production managed by Adam Peake, who is the Eclipse  AV Site Manager at  Stationers’ Hall – one of several high profile venues in and around London managed by Eclipse.

In addition to the VC software, Eclipse supplied mics for each table, webcams, hooked into the house d&b sound system and provided a Panasonic VX5000 projector for the rear projection onto a fast-fold screen.

Robert Wilson from AMEC comments, “Eclipse provided a great service, especially the quick and unflustered response to our keynote crisis, which worked out brilliantly”.

Eclipse’s high quality advanced videoconferencing solution provides secure, reliable, cost-effective and fully supported HD resolution communications taking advantage of exclusive non-public high bandwidth internet services.

Available only through Eclipse Services – part of the Eclipse Presentations Group –clients can benefit from the huge flexibility of fully supported multipoint video meetings with complete confidence.
