VENUES

Disney Concert Hall
The $274 million Walt Disney Concert Hall is perhaps the most anticipated concert hall in the world. Designed by California architect Frank Gehry, the hall was on-again, off-again for many years before its soaring stainless steel shape rose to dominate downtown Los Angeles. Gehry collaborated with acoustician Yasuhisa Toyota of Nagata Acoustics, and Theatre Projects Consultants on this new home for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The 2,265-seat venue (with seats by Poltrona Frau) has stage platforms and LinkLifts engineered and installed by Protech, and a lighting system/network by Strand Lighting with one 550i and one 300 series console, CD90 dimmers, and Strand Lekos with Wybron CXI scrollers. There are two Lycian 1290XTL followspots. The sound reinforcement system, specified by Engineering Harmonics, includes a 96-channel Yamaha PM1D for FOH and monitor, Sennheiser 3000 Series wireless mics, JBL Professional loudspeakers (including VerTec VT4888 midsize and VT4887 compact line array and AE Series units), BSS signal processing, and Crown amplifiers.

REDCAT
REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theatre) is L.A.'s exciting new experimental performance venue located in the Disney Concert Hall complex. REDCAT was designed by California architect Frank Gehry, in conjunction with Yasuhisa Toyota of Nagata Acoustics and Fisher Dachs Associates theatre consultants. Carved out of space that was originally part of the parking garage, the venue has flexible, modular seating (with chairs by Wenger and risers by Steel Deck) that can be used in a variety of configurations. The lighting system/network is by Strand Lighting with a 520i console and CD80 dimmers. The sound equipment includes a Yamaha DM2000 console, self-powered loudspeakers by Meyer Sound, Denon CD and cassette players, processing by BSS Soundweb, and microphones by Shure, AKG, and Crown. There is also a Dolby sound system with JBL loudspeakers for film projections. The rigging is by J.R. Clancy.

Zankel Hall
Crafted out of the bedrock below the streets of New York and directly under Stern Hall, Carnegie Hall’s newest venue is an extremely flexible space that can house everything from classical, jazz, and theatre concerts to banquets to children’s storytelling events. Polshek & Partners were the architects, with Auerbach Pollock Friedlander serving as consultants, and Pook Diemont & Ohl handling the intricate rigging. Vendors JR Clancy, and Theatre Solutions Inc. worked closely with design firm Auerbach Pollock Friedlander. Andrew's Audio provided the sound, video, and communication systems with equipment from: Meyer, Yamaha, BSS, Sennheiser, Hitachi, Sony, Williams Sound, Tannoy, Clear Com, QSC, and JBL. Lighting vendors include: 4Wall East, ETC, City Theatrical, L&E, Robert Juliat, and Vari-Lite.
