LED Screen Hire at the UK Urban Music Festival

UK-based LED screen specialists, LED Screen Hire, supplied large LED screens to the 2005 Nokia Urban Music Festival with the Princes Trust, via the event‘s production company, Nine Yards Productions.

The event was hosted by rapper and MTV presenter Xzibit. A crowd of 16,000 enjoyed memorable performances from Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff, De La Soul, US soulstress Faith Evans, rapper Common, beatboxing pioneers Killa Kela and many more.

The two Barco D-Lite 7 screens–measuring 35 sq.m. and 25 sq.m. respectively–added visual flair to the musicians performances. The LED screens were placed asymmetrically onstage, upstage of the performance area. Other video and broadcast hardware was supplied by CTV. The event was televised on British network television.

LED Screen Hire also supplied 12 42" plasma screens used for broadcast monitors and were placed around the arena. Nick Pask handled the project. SSE Hire supplied sound and Siyan supplied lighting.

"It was a pleasure working with the professional team at LED Screen Hire," says Princes Trust Event organizer Matt Donegan. "Their ability to adapt with the minimum amount of fuss was much appreciated."
