Friday, November 21
 
10:30am-11:15am: Music Production & Drum Programming w/ Maschine 2.0
 
Dubspot instructor and Native instruments product specialist Brian Koolis will demonstrate how to create your own beats, bass lines, melodies, and song arrangements with Maschine Studio. He will also discuss the Studio hardware and how it integrates with the software side of Maschine to help create an efficient workflow.

12:00-12:45pm: DAS Audio

DJ vs. VJ (Audio vs. Video) Tips, tricks and a live demonstration on how to maximize your DJ rig and performance (with and without music videos). Industry veteran & International DJ "B-SIDE" + Guest DJs will play a short set and demonstrate modern and traditional DJ-ing for both audio and video DJs. Utilizing 1-turntable & 1-mixer/controller and using Serato Scratch Live / Serato DJ (with Video); Learn to choose the proper tools & setup for large or small sound reproduction. 1:00pm-1:45pm: DJing with Traktor - Tips, Tricks and Workflow
 
Dubspot instructor and Native instruments product specialist Brian Koolis will demonstrate creative ways to use Traktor for unique DJ performances. These methods include creating live remixes from simple tools like hot cues and loops and also more in-depth topics such as using 4 decks and remix decks to help create a diverse sonic palette.

Join Native Instruments' product specialist NüTrik for a detailed overview of NI's latest releases: The Traktor Kontrol S8, Komplete Kontrol S-Series, and Komplete 10. Speaker: Nick Trikakis
 
3:00pm-3:45pm: Creative Controllerism
 
"All DJ's just use CDj's and press play." Ean's goal is to prove that is wrong, and show just how creative software DJing can really be. With the "press play" backlash in full effect, many DJs are looking for new ways to differentiate themselves and bring more dynamics to their live sets without breaking out the synthesizers. In this intermediate tutorial session Ean Golden, the leading face of "controllerism" and digital DJing, will demonstrate various ways to bring more creativity and expression to your DJing without compromising the flexibility that makes a DJ set special. You will learn way in which modern DJ software can be used like a production tool to layer sounds and tell a musical story on stage.
 
4:30pm-5:45pm: Sound Design & Synthesis with Komplete
 
Dubspot curriculum director and sound design guru Chris Petti will explore creating sounds from scratch using Native Instruments’ Komplete instrument and effects package. Komplete has become the standard for sound design and offers a robust set of tools that create any sound imaginable.

10:30am-11:30am: Visual Performance Workshop - Introduction to VDMX
 
Dubspot curriculum director Chris Petti will offer tips and techniques for performing live visuals with Vidvox’s powerful VDMX visual performance software. Learn the fundamentals of how to use this revolutionary VJ software to perform visuals live.

Join Luca Pretolesi for an intro and demonstration of the benefit of stem mastering vs. stereo mastering in electronic music. Dubspot curriculum director Chris Petti discusses the endless possibilities of sampling in modern electronic music production. He will use Native Instruments Kontakt and showcase some advanced sampling techniques and tricks for synth sound creation.
 
12:00pm-1:00pm: Music Production with Ableton Live + Push
 
Dubspot curriculum director Chris Petti discusses the advantages of using the groundbreaking Push controller with Ableton Live 9. Push is a natural physical extension of Live which allows you to get away from the computer screen and into your music creation process.
 
1:00pm-2:00pm: Performing Live Visuals with VDMX
 
Dubspot instructor Michael Allen discusses how to perform visuals live using the VDMX software package. He will explore how to manipulate media clips using loops, effects, layers, animation, and beat-syncing visuals to music to create impressive performances alongside Djs and music performers.
