Highlights Of Touring Career Workshop 2017

The seventh annual Touring Career Workshop (TCW) took place October 25 at Soundcheck Annex. Chris Lisle and Erik Parker, touring industry veterans, created TCW in 2011 to give “roadies” a great place to learn, grow and network.

This year's event featured industry heavyweights Mark Steinwachs (Bandit Lites), Todd Ortmeier (Florida Georgia Line), Erik Leighty (Miranda Lambert, Mark Oglesby (One Republic), Zito (One Republic), and many others. Areas of expertise included getting a gig, touring and retirement planning, balancing life on the road with personal life and a very special panel by some of the industry's most successful production managers.

Over 350 people attended the event that acts as “human resources for the touring community.” The keynote speech was given by Scott Scovill, owner of MooTv, MooCreative, and many other businesses. He emphasized the importance of being a good person, having a good work ethic, and being smart.

Bandit Lites’ Mark Steinwachs was presented the Sam “Old Skool” Hardin Award.

TCW also raised over $500 for the Las Vegas Victims via “Roadie” t-shirts. They are available for purchase online at www.touringcareerworkshop.com.
