Entrenamiento LDI: Third Annual LDI-Branded Series Of Sessions At sound:check Xpo!

With three exceptional speakers—Laura Frank, Peter Morse, and Aron AltmarkLDI makes its third appearance at sound:check XPO in Mexico City on April 22-24, 2018, with a special LDI-branded program, Entrenamiento LDI: México.

LDI continues to deepen its commitment to the Latin American market by bringing high-quality professional training with three sessions featuring top names in lighting and video, plus a hands-on motor school for riggers. There will also be a networking cocktail reception for industry professionals, with sponsors including Elation Professional.

A two-day, 12-hour course with a class limit of 12 people.

April 22 at 5:30pm: Aron Altmark: From Concept to Reality—Clubs, Concerts, Festivals

Designer and programmer Aron Altmark discusses recent projects his company Visual Endeavors has taken on, including concert design experiences for artists including Logic, Tiësto, Dillon Francis, and The Chainsmokers as well the firm’s experience with large-scale festivals, interactive technologies, and media servers. This talk will focus on the processes and methodologies Visual Endeavors uses in taking projects from concept to design to implementation across a variety of scales and genres in the live entertainment industry. 

April 23 at 5:30pm: Laura Frank: ScreenOps/Planning Playback Operations for Scenic Video

A look at different approaches to screen operations, looking at various methods of planning for and communicating with the teams that collaborate to produce and deliver video content to screens for live events. As an evolving paradigm, screens production can take many forms but typically rely on three basic groups: content, playback, and output. Learn how these three groups interact in a variety of production environments, from television to theater and concerts to marketing events, and engage the audience in a discussion about ScreenOps as an evolving workflow and the key players any production can benefit from for the betterment of the ScreenOps process. 

April 24 at 1pm: Peter Morse: Designer On Design

Concert lighting and production designer Peter Morse discusses some of his major projects for artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Barbara Streisand, Prince, Usher, Bette Midler, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Andrea Bocelli, The Eagles, Sean Combs, Dolly Parton, Reba, John Denver, and many more. He will examine his collaboration with leading names in the music business, his design process, and choice of gear as he shows some of his work from a star-studded career lasting over three decades.
