Stone Sour Tours with Bandit Lites

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE – Stone Sour, the Grammy-nominated rock band, recently wrapped a January and February North American tour with a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites. Following a Loudwire Award for Hard Rock Album of the Year for their sixth studio album, Hydrograd, the band brought their ever-evolving but always rocking sound to sold out crowds across the country.

In planning for this tour’s run, the band directed Lighting Designer Julie Cox to maximize the lighting and ‘make it big.’ With no other set pieces on this run, the lighting would also act as the backdrop.

To aid in the that effort, Bandit Lites supplied more than one hundred fixtures including Chauvet Rogue RH1 Hybrids, GLP X4S fixtures, Martin Atomic 3000 LED Strobes, Robe Robin 1200 LED Washes, Bandit 5x5 fixtures and Chauvet Nexus AW 7x7s along with a grand MA 2 lite console for control.

“We kept similar elements from previous tours with fixture types but enhanced the size and space,” explained Cox. “The 7x7 panels are awesome; when I asked about what images they wanted, Production Manager Stephen Shaw said, “Make it weird!” so with (Photographer) Stubs Stallone’s help, we did.”

Cox also credits Bandit Lighting Technician Chris Noll with perfecting the diamond layout of the fixtures, ensuring everything was precise and safely in place.

“Project Manager Don Lockridge, Brent Barrett and Chris Noll are my A-team,” Cox extolled. “Once again I’ve walked in to the conference room, a week before Christmas, with a scratch drawing of what Stephen Shaw and I discussed, and they made it into a working rock ‘n roll lighting rig.”
