Navori Labs Digital Signage Software Integration with System-on-a-Chip Displays Gains Momentum

LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND/MONTREAL, March 22, 2017  Navori Labs is addressing the increasingly popular trend toward System-on-a-Chip (SoCSmart Displays with its newly optimized QL 2.0 Player for Windows, Android and TizenNavori will demonstrate QL Player 2.0 and its complete QL 2.0 digital signage engine at Digital Signage Expo, taking place next week (March 29-30) at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Navori will exhibit at Booth 1413.

QL Player 2.0 addresses the operational and integration shortcomings of SoC displays that, to date, have been mostly bundled with software from the same display manufacturer; or a basic web player with limited features. While the benefits of these SoC displays have always been clear – streamlined cabling and equipment costs, reduced risk of theft and vandalism – they generally provide a rudimentary feature set, and integration with third-party hardware has proven a challenge for many installers.

As a fully hybrid solution, QL Player 2.0 removes the systems integration headaches and frees end users to easily manage a mix of hardware and operating systems from a common HTML5 user interface. This results in more efficient player management, which becomes increasingly valuable as networks scale. Additionally, Navori’s trademark ease of use remains a key benefit of the latest QL 2.0 software release, which reduces training and maintenance costs.

QL Player 2.0 supports several SoC-equipped Smart Displays out of the gate from Panasonic (AF-1 Series), Philips (D Series and P Series) and Elotouch, with support for Samsung Tizen beginning this spring. The Samsung integration is especially noteworthy, as NavoriLabs will be the first supplier to offer native digital signage player software for Tizen

“To date, SoC displays have mostly been limited to a range of features and functionalities similar to a very basic PC-based signage platform,” said Jerome Moeri, CEO, Navori Labs. “As more systems integrators and end users transition to SoC displays for their installation and security benefits, it’s crucial that they don’t take a step backward in regards to content. We will continue to develop new partnerships with display manufacturers and integration partners to bring these benefits to an even wider audience.”

All supported SoC displays benefit from standard QL Player 2.0 features including broadcast-quality content playback, template and ticker support with multiple layers and transparency, player monitoring and proof-of-playback reporting, and automated software updates. QL Player 2.0 provides additional flexibility through compatibility with SaaS/cloud and self-hosted installations, giving network operators and end users several deployment options to best suit their needs.
