Christie®, a world leader in 3D visualization display technologies, will again be Gold Sponsor of the Society of High Performance Computing (SHPCP) Theater during the 84th annual Society of Exploration Geophysicist’ (SEG) International Exposition in Denver October 26-31. SEG’s Exposition and Annual Meeting is the world's largest oil, energy and mineral exposition showcasing cutting-edge technology for use in exploration and associated industries, where thousands attend to learn and discover geophysical innovations and new earth science technologies. Among the Christie solutions on display at SEG are the Christie FHD552-XHD LCD flat panels, Christie Quad84HD LCD flat panels, Christie® MicroTiles®Christie Entero® HB rear projection cube, the only LED display to offer Wi-Fi enabled wireless control, Christie Phoenix® open content management tool, and Christie Brio meeting presentation and collaboration solutions.
“Oil and energy companies require that the critical roles of collaboration and advanced visualization be integrated in the displays used for exploring and synthesizing seismic images and data. Christie’s visualization displays and solutions are being used around the world to better evaluate spatial relationships, which can improve insight derived from the data,” said Dave Muscat, senior director, Americas Region, Visualization, Simulation and Control Room Solutions, at Christie.
A series of presentations will be offered to attendees in the 50-seat SHPCP Theater. Christie will sponsor two Halliburton presentations that will be shown on a Christie Quad84HD LCD flat panel. Included is a presentation by Mary Cole, Halliburton product manager, on High Resolution Displays in Oil and Gaswith key findings from human perception and user-experience research, followed by a discussion on implications for using these large displays to maximal effect to improve subsurface understanding. Satyam Priyadarshy, Ph.D., Halliburton chief data scientist, will present his abstract Taking Exploration Geophysics to a Next Level with Big Data. He will discuss key challenges and approaches to resolving the challenges with the high degree of complexity in creating value from the geophysical, seismic, and related data sets, and how the complexities could be alleviated by leveraging the four foundational legs of Big Data.
On Oct 28, at 3:30 p.m., in the SEG –SHPCP Theater, Steve Lutz, senior sales manager for Christie’s visual environments, will speak about several new technologies being utilized in visualization applications including new user interfaces, auto alignment and display technologies.
