NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE – Lee Brice is taking his chart topping sounds on the road with lighting provided by Bandit Lites. The “Hard to Love” and “I Drive Your Truck” singer-songwriter is still crisscrossing the country with his smash summer tour, and will kick off the fall leg September 11.

Lighting designer Chris Lisle worked with Production Manager Wayne Pauley to create a rig that met the logistics of truck space, time and budget, factors that can vex even the most seasoned designers. The rig Lisle and Pauley created is so efficient that both video and lighting can roll off the truck, be placed on stage and cabled, and be ‘off and running.’

“We had to do a design that one person (lighting director Patrick Sieg) could easily manage to set up, operate, and load out in the necessary time allotments,” Lisle said. “Lee plays a variety of time slots and venues, so we knew this system had to be scalable and move on and off stage quickly when needed.”

Lisle placed rows of X4S both between and attached to the video screens, working to color them in a similar manner to whatever content is displayed on the videos, filling the stage with the same color scheme.

“We decided to use some video carts that our friends at MooTV had, and from there it was a process of layering in lights in a way that we could accomplish a lot of bang for our buck. I also went with the X4S as they are an amazing light - small in size but has a lot of impact.”

Crafting the best design with constantly changing elements can be frustrating, but the team at Bandit works to give its clients the tools to accomplish just that, a feeling Lisle shared saying, “This design has evolved over the course of about two years and Bandit has been great every step of the way - with fixture type swaps, to the prep process, etc. We roll out of the shop with a top-notch product every time.”
