BoxCast Taps Xilinx To Power 4K 60FPS Live Streaming In Newly-Launched BoxCaster Pro aAt NAB 2017

BoxCast (www.boxcast.com) today announced it has teamed up with Xilinx, Inc. (www.xilinx.com) to deploy its Zynq® UltraScale+ EV MPSoC devices in the newly launched BoxCaster Pro at NAB 2017. As a result of this collaboration, BoxCast is ensuring that its new live streaming device can deliver the industry’s fastest, most reliable 4K 60fps HDR capture and cloud transcoding for 4K live streaming events. BoxCaster Pro is leveraging the new Zynq UltraScale+ EV MPSoC devices from Xilinx, which integrates an H.264/H.265 video codec capable of simultaneous encode and decode up to 4Kx2K (60fps) with High Dynamic Range 10-bit color support.

Xilinx designed its new devices with high definition video in mind, and is ideally suited for live streaming with high image quality and reliability. The new Zynq UltraScale+ EV MPSoC is making its professional video industry debut with the release of the BoxCaster Pro at NAB 2017.

The BoxCaster Pro: New at NAB 2017

BoxCaster Pro, announced today at NAB 2017, introduces 4K live streaming to the BoxCast Platform, and delivers ultra-high quality 4K live streams with all the simplicity, reliability and technical sophistication for which BoxCast is known. BoxCaster Pro provides encoding up to 4K60HDR video in HEVC allowing users to stream events live without requiring large amounts of network bandwidth. Built on the BoxCast platform, BoxCaster Pro delivers transcoded video to viewers wherever they may be.

Users can input video from up to a 12G-SDI or HDMI 2.0a camera and crystal-clear, professional balanced XLR inputs, then monitor live video streams or connect to downstream video infrastructure with the the 4.3” touchscreen or video passthrough.

The BoxCaster Pro and Professional Series is set to be released this summer. Pricing will be announced at that time.
