MELVILLE, NY, September 13, 2010 — For over 50 years, guitarists have relied on the signature tone of the VOX AC15 amplifier. Now, the AC15C1, part of the current VOX Custom Series, is available in a limited Vintage Red (AC15C1RD). This custom color first appeared in 1963, and provides a vintage character. It also projects a powerful presence in any environment – on stage, in the studio or at home.

The AC15C1RD relies on 3 x 12AX7 dual triode vacuum tubes in the pre-amp stage, and 2 x EL84 pentode tubes in the power stage. As with all Custom Series models, it offers two channels: Normal and Top Boost. Each channel is equipped with its own Volume control, and the Top Boost channel offers interactive Treble and Bass tone controls. Both channels utilize the Tone Cut and Volume controls in the Master section. The Tone Cut control operates in the power stage rather than the preamp stage, allowing an additional degree of tone-shaping. The Master Volume control works in conjunction with the individual volumes of each channel to create just the right degree of gain-staging. By balancing the individual and Master volumes, users can enjoy the coveted clean VOX “chimey” sound, a powerful overdriven tone, and everything in between.

Also included is the VOX Classic Tremolo effect, with adjustable controls for both the speed and depth. A warm Spring Reverb adds spaciousness to the sound.

The VOX AC15C1RD begins shipping November 2010 with a U.S. MSRP of $1000.00.
