Trinity Sound Company Upgrades Yucaipa Church's Audio System With JBL VRX Constant Curvature Arrays

Delivering high output and pinpoint directivity with a compact and affordable system, Trinity Sound Company (TSC) recently upgraded the 30-year-old sound system at the Yucaipa Church in Yucaipa, California with JBL VRX compact Constant Curvature line arrays. The new loudspeaker system is located in the Church's 500-seat, multipurpose event room.

With two main arrays each including four small-scale JBL VRX928LA dual 8-inch line array speakers and a VRX915S 1x15-inch subwoofer, TSC achieved maximum coverage in the room, which is utilized for worship, concerts, movies and general events. The square-shaped room was designed with its stage in the front right corner and the front-of-house sound booth in the rear left corner, resulting in a wide fill area in between.

Each VRX928LA enclosure includes a patented high frequency waveguide with two compression drivers mounted on a continuous arc, enabling them to work together acoustically as if they were a single driver, ensuring consistent, even coverage. “The room was just big enough where plug-and-play, left/right speakers wouldn't have provided the best sound, but small enough that a large line array was unnecessary,” stated Devin DeVore, Owner and Head Engineer, TSC. “With our budget and sound requirements, the very compact and low-profile JBL VRX928LA arrays provide the best value and performance, pleasing the client and delivering great sound.”

Representatives of the Yucaipa church have kept in close contact with TSC as positive comments and praise continue to come in about the updated system.

DeVore and TSC have used JBL loudspeakers for years and stick by JBL's promise of delivering high quality. “It's nice to put a speaker system in and know that the product will sound exactly how it has been advertised,” continued DeVore. “There is no exaggeration with JBL equipment. What it says, it does--right on the money.”
