TODD BARRETT NAMED WSDG PROJECT MANAGER

todd-barrett-wsdg-pm.JPGNEW YORK: Todd Barrett, a skilled designer, project coordinator and architect with extensive large-scale, multi-purpose building credits has joined the Walters-Storyk Design Group as a Project Manager. Barrett brings nine years of on-the-ground experience with Atlanta-based Randall-Paulson Architects, Inc. to his new post.

"We first met Todd during our collaboration with Randall-Paulson on the $35 million Murray Arts Center in Atlanta, remarks WSDG co-founder Beth Walters. He played an integral roll as liaison between our offices. We were deeply impressed with his technical and his inter-personal communications abilities. Earlier this year we retained him to train our staff on our transition to REVIT, a powerful building information modeling software. That project went extremely well, and he quickly built solid relationships with our team. When a position opened up in our New York office Todd was our first draft candidate."

Barrett joined Randall-Paulson in 2000 as a Designer, in 2003 he was named a Project Coordinator for the firm and in 2007 he was promoted to Project Architect. Working simultaneously with multiple owners, consultants, designers, engineers, contractors and documentation phases, he has overseen dozens of multi-$ million projects.

"I have been fortunate to have participated in an exceptionally wide range of design and construction projects over the past nine years," Barrett said. "One of the most interesting and demanding of these was Atlanta's Murray Arts Center which also marked my introduction to WSDG. Though I was not contemplating a career shift, I felt that if I were to make a move this would be a great place to work. Surveying current WSDG commissions throughout the U.S., Mexico, South America and Europe, I anticipate a number of unique challenges. I look forward to addressing them."

WSDG architect/acoustician John Storyk adds, "We have been fortunate to maintain our forward momentum through the current economy. In addition to audio and video production facilities both here and abroad, we are also engaged on a number of educational, governmental, corporate, house of worship, hotel, performing and media arts centers. The diversity of our client list supported by the talents of our 50+ member international staff are primary factors in our success. Todd Barrett is exceptionally well qualified, and we expect him to make a valuable addition to our team."

Todd Barrett is a graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University and a member of the American Institute of Architects. AIA. He and his wife Erin are parents of two sons, Austin (4) and Evan (2).
