Associated Press reported that a stage being set up for the Super Bowl has collapsed on February 2 outside of Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida, where the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints will compete in Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday, February 7.
Ambulances responded to the scene after workers setting up the stage were injured Tuesday night. Four victims were injured and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A helicopter took two of the four as trauma alerts.
NFL officials released the following statement: "During a rehearsal, one of the 40 pieces of the halftime stage tipped over. As Miami-Dade Fire Rescue stated, four volunteer workers were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries."
