SHOWTEC TAKES DELIVERY OF WORXAUDIO TECHNOLOGIES LOUDSPEAKER SYSTEM

showtec_jmartin_lo.JPGGreensboro, NC – September 2008… WorxAudio Technologies, a leading manufacturer of loudspeaker systems for the pro touring and install markets, is pleased to announce that Poway, CA-based ShowTec has taken delivery of a sizeable line array system consisting of loudspeakers from the WorxAudio TrueLine Series catalog. The new ShowTec system, which will be used extensively for corporate industrials and other special events, consists of twelve TLV8T-P line array modules, two TLV8TDF-P down fill elements, the TrueLine Series rigging grids, and four TL215ST-P subwoofers.

Well known as a full service provider of audio, video, staging, lighting, plus scenery and furnishings, ShowTec provides design and production services for corporate theater and special events worldwide. Jonathan Martin, ShowTec's Principle Designer, commented on the new WorxAudio system. “We were very impressed with WorxAudio's TrueLine Series,” states Martin. “Their sound quality, compact size, and self-powered design contribute to an ideal combination of features that we found very appealing. Of particular note, the system's clarity and broad horizontal coverage really caught our attention. Further, the compact size of the enclosures make for very efficient truck pack—and in the traveling production market, these are important considerations.”

The WorxAudio TLV8 line array elements incorporate a large format, 3-inch voice coil compression driver coupled to a stabilized proprietary FlatWaveâ„¢ Former (wave shaping device) that delivers clear, penetrating high frequencies over a predictable and controlled coverage area. Dual 8-inch cone transducers coupled to the (A.I.M. â„¢) Acoustic Intergrading Module minimize cone filtering throughout the entire operating range and provide a rich, fully balanced sound. The integrated PMD-1 power amp features 500 watts of pulse pounding adrenalin for the low frequencies, 250 watts for the highs, and incorporates twin digital program processors, a mute switch for each output, a detented volume control, an XLR transformer with isolated I/O, and industry-standard AC PowerCon switchgear I/O.

The WorxAudio Technologies TrueLine TL215ST-P subwoofer is a self-powered, compact, high output sub bass enclosure that utilizes dual 15-inch hi-excursion transducers. The subwoofer's PMD-2 power amp provides 1000 watts for each LF driver in the enclosure, incorporates twin digital program processors, an XLR transformer with isolated I/O, and industry-standard AC PowerCon switchgear I/O.

Martin was also very complimentary of Hugh Sarvis, WorxAudio Technologies' CEO and Director of Engineering. “Hugh's reputation as a designer and sound professional was yet another important factor that gave us the confidence to proceed with this transaction,” said Martin. “He's very well known and respected in our industry and this gave us the confidence to go with a boutique manufacturer as opposed to one of the more commonly recognized brands.”

Martin continued, “ShowTec has always been focused on trying to find the best product as opposed to selecting equipment based upon a company's marketing budget. The fact that WorxAudio is a closely held, smaller company impressed us because there's a face behind the product in a way that simply doesn't occur with larger manufacturers. I believe it facilitates a more personal relationship between the companies. As we compared the TrueLine Series against the competition, we genuinely believe WorxAudio offered the superior product.”
