Scharff Weisberg Adds Brand-New High-End DL.3 Digital Luminaires To Inventory

DL3Scharff Weisberg continues to expand its cutting-edge equipment inventory with the addition of the High-end DL.3, a 6500 ANSI lumens version of the celebrated DL-2 digital luminaire. The DL.3 represents the fourth generation of digital lighting products from High End Systems/Barco and is the flagship addition to a product line, which includes the Orbital Head and Axon Media Server.

Scharff Weisberg's DL.3s are already in demand by customers. They are going to be sent out on “The Wizard of Oz” tour and the national tour of media personality Glenn Beck.

“As an extremely bright video projector and a complete moving light with a fully-integrated, proven server, the DL.3 represents the newest convergence gear on the market from High End Systems/Barco,” says Scharff Weisberg Lighting VP of Sales, Chris McMeen. “This vastly improved model also utilizes multiple projection lens, which makes the DL.3 even more flexible.”

The DL.3 Digital Light does indeed mark the convergence of a media server loaded with a wealth of digital content, a high output 3-chip light engine, a highly-sensitive HAD sensor camera, and an infrared illumination system.

It mounts like any other intelligent moving luminaire and controls just as easily with plug-and-play operation using standard DMX cabling and protocols. Since there is no need for RGB cabling, production set-up time is reduced; in addition, racks of servers are no longer necessary at front-of-house or in the backstage area.

A Content Management Application running on the user's Mac or PC workstation or laptop enables remote control of uploading and crossloading content, upgrading software, and configuring fixtures for multiple DL.3s on a fixture network.

The DL.3's patent-pending Collage Generator allows multiple DL.2 and DL.3 units to create seamless vertical, horizontal or central panoramic media projections which are controlled from a lighting console. Using multiple digital lighting fixtures delivers increased effective screen luminance.
