Production Services Ireland (PSI) has opened a new Dublin facility in Sandyford, just off the M50 to the south of the city.

This is to help service the increasing amount of work PSI is doing in southern Ireland, enabling a true "all Ireland" operation, which will run in conjunction with the Belfast office and warehouse in Carryduff. The two locations are under 2 hours apart by road.

This Dublin base is being managed by Ciaran Tallon. He has been in the lighting and production industry for 24 years with active experience as a freelance technician, lighting operator and designer and as project manager working on tours, corporate events and installations, and for the last 12 years as hire manager with his previous company.

PSI's Brian Reilly states, "It's great to have someone of Ciaran's calibre on board. We've been considering this move for some time, and with the amount of work we have recently been engaged in south of the border, it will allow us to offer really cost-effective packages to our clients and an even more efficient and streamlined service".

The Dublin unit has 5000 square feet of space, with main offices, sales and meeting rooms and a substantial warehouse space with full truck access. The computer and hire track rental systems between offices are networked together. A full stock of lighting equipment will be kept in Dublin and a near-future company wide investment will be made to generally increase stock levels that will be easily accessible to both bases. Dublin will also have a sales department with a stock of tapes, gels, scenery paint, etc.

Says PSI's Sean Pagel, "It's very exciting. One of the things we value most at PSI is teamwork, which enables us to offer a seriously premium service. When all the circumstances were in place - with the right person and premises available - it was the time to make our move"

Ciaran Tallon comments, "I am really looking forward to working with Brian and Sean. We are all like minded individuals and have the same ambitions, goals and visions for the future, together with a real passion for the industry.

PSI's infrastructure is very solid, the kit quality and range is fantastic and everyone is focused on providing the best service and support to our clients."

Recent PSI work includes The All Ireland Talent Show - for which they have supplied full lighting production for the last 3 years, and the company also works regularly for several southern Ireland based lighting designers and production companies. PSI has just been confirmed a lighting supplier for the Vodafone Stage at the 2011 Oxegen Festival.
