New offering rounds out DMX-over-Ethernet product line

Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE: AYI; “Company”), a market leader in innovative energy-efficient lighting, controls and daylighting solutions, is pleased to introduce the newest Pathway Connectivity (“Pathway”) DMX-over-Ethernet product, the Pathport® Quattro. This innovative product provides real-time, interoperability solutions between sophisticated lighting control systems. A compact, four-port node, the Pathport Quattro product runs on Power-over-Ethernet, making it suitable for truss, desktop or wall mount installation, as well as 19” rack mounting. Recently acquired by the Company, Pathway designs and manufactures innovative electronics that enable lighting control systems to communicate with intelligent lighting fixtures and power devices, even when those products utilize different communications protocols.

Like other members of the Pathway Pathport family, the Quattro supports all standard DMX-over-Ethernet protocols, including E1.31 streaming ACN, Strand Shownet, Art-Net and Pathport Protocol. It also provides an E1.20 Remote Device Management interface, for integral use on the very latest entertainment lighting systems. A simple but comprehensive front panel menu makes commissioning easy. Advanced features, such as signal loss behavior, can be set with Pathport Manager, the cross-platform configuration software available for download at no charge from the Pathway website.

“The Pathport Quattro rounds out what is now the most complete and powerful line of DMX-over-Ethernet distribution equipment available,” said Dave Higgins, Acuity Brands Lighting Vice President and Value Stream Leader, Pathway Connectivity. “With our ability to customize the data connectors, the Quattro can easily be retro-fitted into an existing network or be the cornerstone of a new installation,” Higgins continued.

The Pathport Quattro, as well as other Pathway products, will be exhibited at the LDI2011 Trade Show and Conference at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, October 28-30, 2011, booth #1257.
