Pangolin Laser Systems Makes A Great Laser Software Even Better, with QuickShow 2.0

Pangolin Laser Systems Inc. the world's largest producer of laser display software and control hardware today announced the version 2.0 update to their Lasershow Designer QuickShow platform. QuickShow was Pangolin's response to market demands for low-cost laser software that gives the user's ability to create high quality laser light shows easily, and at an affordable price.

QuickShow 2.0QuickShow version 2.0 promises even more features to users creating laser shows, with an all new workspace including additional atmospherics, beam effects, logos and QuickFX. Perhaps the most anticipated new feature is the Virtual Laser Jockey (VLJ), which can automatically trigger cues and effects to the beat of the music or have them triggered by incoming audio picked up by a laptop microphone. In addition, new language menus are available with support for English, Chinese, Dutch, German, French and Portuguese. They have also added Video Tutorials which are easily accessible through the help menu. QuickShow version 2.0 gives users the ability to control up to nine laser projectors, each with its own FB3 hardware, and it supports additional color controls for RGV (red, green, violet) and TTL lasers. In addition, new "zone hot-keys" give you the ability to see nine projection zones in the preview window, and activate them with the numeric keypad on thecomputer keyboard.

Pangolin has also included additional support for DMX Input and Output, using the ENTTEC DMX USB PRO, DMX control device. The timeline portion of the program has also been dramatically improved; including new Event Editors and changes to the way keys are visualized. And now, users can export any cue to a series of frames, and the exported frames can be used in other Pangolin software products such as LD2000, LivePRO or LiveQUICK.

At the 2010 International Laser Display (ILDA) Awards Ceremony, QuickShow was awarded the highest-place Fenning Award for Technical Achievement. QuickShow is also the number-one-selling laser show software on the internet.

William R. Benner Jr., President and CTO of Pangolin states; “QuickShow 2.0 is sure to be a hit among our users. The new features, especially the Virtual Laser Jockey really separate it from anything else available at this price level. We have already begun receiving compliments on the new workspace, and additional effects that are included. We are excited about this release, and confident that our users will enjoy using version 2.0 when creating their next laser show.”
