With the new Ring Cycle on the way at the Metropolitan Opera, opening next fall, the theatre required new steel to support the 45-ton set. The job was done by Koenig Iron Works of Long Island City, as reported in The New York Times.
Das Rheingold, opens the Met's all season on Monday, September 27, 2010, at 6:45pm.
