Morpheus Lights helps kick off the “Wrecking Ball” North American Stadium Tour at Boston's Historic Fenway Park

Las Vegas, NV 8-13-12

Morpheus Lights will help Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band kick off its “Wrecking Ball” North American Stadium Tour when it swings into Center Field of Boston's legendary Fenway Park on August 14, 2012. Following a little “warm up” in Europe with 33 Stadium and Festival performances, where show times inched toward and ultimately exceeded the 4-hour mark, the band and the Wrecking Ball crew are primed to go the distance in what are anticipated to be the concert events of Summer 2012!

Morpheus Lights is pleased to be the Lighting Contractor for the tour, supplying the lighting system designed by Jeff Ravitz of Intensity Advisors, which features the new Ayrton Wildsunâ„¢ 500C automated LED washlight. “The Wildsunâ„¢ 500C is an impressive fixture,” remarks Ravitz. “It has a very warm white, lots of punch and a strikingly different look with the saturated colors being so vibrant and vivid.”

Another debut is Morpheus Lights' new CP7â„¢-IP LED Blinder, which dazzles audiences with weather-proof RGB LED illumination, powered by the Chauvet COLORadoâ„¢ Tri-IP light engine. “Lighting the audience is crucial on a Springsteen show,” says Ravitz. “Bruce is out there looking to bond with the audience in a communal experience. Blinders need to have long-throw capability and broad coverage - but we tell our story with color. The CP7s give me a really great range of saturated colors that help integrate and incorporate the crowd into the stage picture.”

The rig also features Vari-Lite® VL1100â„¢ TSD automated profiles, Clay Paky Sharpys, Martin MAC Auras and Robert Juliat truss spots powered by the Morpheus RJEâ„¢ electronic ballast. In addition, Robert Juliat 4kW Lancelot followspots are used for the long front of house throws from the sound delay towers to the stadium stage aprons.

Lighting Director Todd Ricci and Crew Chief Brad Brown lead Morpheus' nine-man technical crew. Morpheus Lights is proud to continue their support of what many industry observers and media are already calling one of the most powerful and memorable live performance touring entertainment events in history. Morpheus is also very pleased to be part of the creative team that delivers a stadium-scaled system that Tour Director George Travis recently called “21st Century lighting which still gives us the ability to make things feel like a 70's club setting when desired”.

The Wrecking Ball Tour is scheduled to play stadiums through the end of September, and then it heads back indoors for Arena performances which run to the end of the year.
