Medals and a Show at the Nightly Victory Ceremonies

Every evening the medal presentations during the Olympic Games will be followed by large arena-style concerts, featuring some of North America's top performers. Taking place in two different venues that are a three-hour drive apart, the nightly events are sure to keep executive producer David Atkins and the entire Ceremonies creative team working hard, but Atkins isn't worried. He believes that adding the extra excitement of live musical performances “will provide the Victory Ceremonies with a level of theatre and celebration not replicated by previous Games.”

Medals won on the lower mainland will be awarded during the Victory Ceremony at BC Place Stadium. Medals won in Whistler will be awarded at the 8,000-capacity Whistler Medals Plaza located in Whistler Village. For the first time in Games history, both venues will be linked live via video.

The announced headliners at the Whistler Medals Plaza are: All American Rejects, Estelle, Pierre Lapointe, Feist, Deadmau5, Our Lady Peace, Hedley, Stars, OneRepublic, DEVO, The Fray, Jet, The Roots, K'Naan, and Usher.

The headliners at Vancouver's BC Place are: Nelly Furtado, Barenaked Ladies, Paul Brandt, Hedley, Theory of a Deadman, Stereophonics, Trooper & Loverboy, Billy Talent, INXS, Burton Cummings, and Great Big Sea.
