LED Source is nominated under the “Venues—Club or Lounge” category for an energy-efficient lighting design project created using LED technology at a Boca Raton, Fla.-based restaurant and lounge. The subtly Moroccan-inspired space infuses creative video content provided by ArKaos Media Servers with Philips Color Kinetics LED fixtures—the latest in LED technology.
The Excellence In Live Design Awards recognize nominees for outstanding achievement in design for projects created last year and present an opportunity for industry professionals to be recognized by their peers. Voting is underway at http://livedesignonline.com/excellenceawards/ and ends April 27. The winners will be announced on Monday, April 30, and will be featured in the June-July issue of Live Design.
Spin Ultra Lounge, a multi-faceted venue that functions as a restaurant, lounge, nightclub and live performance venue, sought the expertise of LED Source to help achieve a lighting design makeover that would easily transform the space from day to night for a myriad of occasions. The LED lighting technology incorporated into the project allows the entire mood of the venue to change at the touch of a finger, whether it's warm lighting for happy hour, backlit sunset tones for dinner, or full-on projections and strobe effects at night. Various images and presentations projected through inlaid flat screens mounted on the wall and immersive projections set the vibe throughout the lounge-area and make the entire space come alive.
