LDI 2011: CHAUVET® Launches Revolutionary Épixâ„¢ Series

Pixel Mapping Fixtures Run By Arkaos Kling-Net

chauvet-epix-strip-bar-pr.jpgSUNRISE, Fla. – CHAUVET®, a leading manufacturer of professional lighting and video equipment, debuts Épixâ„¢—an exclusive, revolutionary series of flexible, pixel mapping LED fixtures run by ArKaos Kling-Net protocol.

“The launch of the Épixâ„¢ Series marks a bold direction in the world of affordable pixel mapping fixtures for CHAUVET®,” CEO Albert Chauvet said.

Épixâ„¢ Bar and Épixâ„¢ Strip generate intense output due to tri-colored SMD LEDs, which are set at a pixel pitch of 25 millimeters. Épixâ„¢ Bar has 160 SMD LEDs and is self-contained with built-in operating features, while Épixâ„¢ Strip incorporates 40 SMD LEDs and uses Épixâ„¢ Drive 640—a separate controller which operates up to 16 Épixâ„¢ Strip fixtures.

The Kling-Net protocol automatically configures real-time video data, thus removing the complexity of setting up standard LED displays and speeding the process. The protocol is plug and play, which makes it very simple to use directly from a computer, and cost efficient by eliminating the need for expensive video hardware converters.

"Kling-Net opens the market to new lighting designers who have previously been deterred by the technical complexity and expense of LED lighting systems,” said ArKaos CEO, Marco Hinic. “Kling-Net removes these barriers and makes LED lighting available, easy and fun. This new relationship with CHAUVET® will greatly expand the visibility of Kling-Net protocol. We are pleased to work with a partner that can take our technology and deliver it to those eager to use video, which has now become an important part of show, lighting and décor design.”
