Konsert Teknik Joins the Growing Ranks of HARMAN’s JBL VTX Customers

jbl_konsertteknik.jpgNORTHRIDGE, California – Joining the growing band of leading international PA companies that now have a HARMAN’s JBL VTX line array system as their frontline PA is Uppsala, Sweden-based Konsert Teknik.

Run by Mikael “Wibban” Viberg (and formerly known as Wibban Produktion) Konsert Teknik has been a longtime supporter of HARMAN Professional’s integrated control and sound reinforcement systems in Sweden, including Soundcraft’s Vi digital consoles and recently JBL VERTEC® line arrays with new V5 DSP tunings.

But with the launch of JBL’s groundbreaking new VTX system, Viberg recently invested in a 32-enclosure V25 rig and four VTX S28 subs as well as 60 Crown I-Tech 12000 HD amplifiers. He placed the order with Septon AB, HARMAN Professional’s Swedish distributor, which has supported him over a long period.

Explaining the decision, Viberg said, “It was essential to have the best PA system to support the acts that pass through the venues and stages of [Stockholm amusement park] Gröna Lund and Furuvik [just outside Gävle] during the summer season.” Both are major concert sites and Konsert Teknik aims to break the system down into two separate rigs, which will service the long seasons in both of these locations.

Viberg was first exposed to the VTX system when he attended the HARMAN Business and Technology Conference in January 2012, along with Septon’s Lennart Dahlgren. Viberg was looking to build on his VERTEC VT4889, VT4887 and VT4886 loudspeakers— the mainstay of his inventory—and “a clean sound” headed the list of criteria he was seeking. The revolutionary D2 dual compression driver met and exceeded that requirement, and immediately drove the purchase.

“I expect to see VTX starting to appear on riders very soon — judging from the positive reactions we have already received from many technicians,” Viberg concluded.
