KMGH-TV DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION HD COVERAGE TAKES CENTERSTAGE USING RF CENTRAL TECHNOLOGY

Denver, CO, September 11, 2008 -- Denver, Colorado ABC affiliate KMGH-TV recently broadcast the Democratic National Convention in HD using RF Central's RF Extreme GL Series 23 GHz fixed link. In using the first 23 GHz high-definition radio available in the country, the station used the unit in conjunction with four ASI streams to transport HD video throughout its 72 hour around-the-clock coverage, which included both live and pre-taped content.democratic-national-convention-photo.JPG

“We were looking for a solution that could allow us to replace our 30-year old analog 23 GHz radio to digital in order to send as much as four HD video packages back to the station directly from our cameras,” says Dave Stromberg, assistant chief engineer, KMGH-TV. “We approached several companies but no one was able to accommodate us. It wasn't until we discovered RF Central's GL Series 23 GHz fixed link that were able to find the perfect solution.”

“RF Central is a wonderful company that knows how to accommodate broadcasters' needs,” adds Stromberg. “While its products offer superior quality and durability, its service is very reliable and its team always has someone available for immediate assistance.”
