London, UK based automation and motion control specialist, Kinesys, has appointed Light Partner as its exclusive Danish distributor in the latest expansion of its global distribution network.

The Herning based company is celebrating its twentieth year of being at the forefront of the entertainment technology industry.

Says Kinesys' business development manager Mark de Gruyter, “As always we select our distributors very carefully. Ideally they should already have a good working relationship with a reputable hoist manufacturer, which Light Partner has with Columbus McKinnon. Apart from being a group of genuinely nice and dedicated individuals the company is very well established and respected and the perfect choice for our partner in Denmark.”

Light Partner also represents James Thomas and Litec trussing ranges as well as other premium brands like Vari*Lite.

Light Partner's Stig Meyer Jensen comments, “When we decided to take on motion control, it was very clear that Kinesys is the top-of-the-range so this, coupled with the synergy of our CM Lodestar dealership, made it an easy choice for us”.

He goes on to say that they believe ‘advanced motor control' is a key visual feature that will become increasingly common in all types of shows in the future. With Light Partner's existing customers expecting the best products both in terms of innovation and product quality, again Kinesys was an excellent match.

They have already enjoyed considerable success with Kinesys' newest product offering, DigiHoist, as well as LibraCELL load monitoring products. As the Danish rental market is starting to emerge from the worst of the European economic crisis, they are also expecting a healthy interest in the Evo vari-speed motor control system, which offers flexible and great value technology.

One of the first Kinesys sales for Light Partner was to leading Danish rental company Litecom, who purchased a set of six DigiHoist controllers and 16-channel handheld remotes together with a DigiLink which allows multiple units and handsets to be linked together for larger configuration requirements in their day to day use on shows and events.

With production schedules being tight, a motor control system that is fully custom flightcased and ready-to-go, quick to deploy and easy to cable and link together really helps the set up process.

In addition to the general reliability and quality engineering that is synonymous with all Kinesys products, Litecom also wanted to invest in the new DigiHoist platform because of the ‘future proof' upgrade options available allowing for loadcell and encoder feedback upgrades to be added at any time.

The first gig for Litecom's new DigiHoist controllers was Sport 2011, an annual gala and awards event staged in Boxen, a venue in Herning. The rig featured over 100 hoists and half a kilometre of black Thomas SuperTruss, plus lighting, sound and video production.
