Impressive Certification! Impression LED Moving Head From Elation Receives cETLus Approval For US And Canada

impression.JPG LOS ANGELES – Along with being impressively bright, compact, lightweight and fast, the award-winning Impression LED intelligent moving head can now claim another merit – it's ETL approved. The Impression, available from Elation Professional, has received cETLus certification for the United States and Canada, ensuring it complies with UL standards and can therefore be specified in permanent installations and other applications where ETL approval is required.

“We are extremely pleased that the Impression has been awarded the cETLus seal of approval, which is granted only to products that pass the strictest safety and quality inspections,” commented Eric Loader, director of sales for Elation Professional. “This is excellent news for our customers, too. The Impression has distinguished itself as a one-of-a-kind lighting product that takes LED color washes into the next generation, and now that it has received this official accreditation, more designers will be able to specify it in their projects and installations.”

The winner of Live Design magazine's 2008 “Lighting Product of the Year,” the Impression is an ultra-bright, fast-moving, extremely compact moving head powered by 90 Luxeon K2 LEDs, which emit an output comparable to a 575-watt discharge fixture, yet consume only half the electricity. It is available in two versions, both of which received cETLus approval:

* Impression RGB - additive RGB color mixing with 30 red, 30 green and 30 blue LEDs

* Impression W/A – all-white with 60 cold white and 30 amber LEDs for variable color temperature control from 3,200k-6,000k. The company has also made other customized versions of the Impression with different LED layouts – ½ Warm White and Cool White or 1/3 Cool White and 2/3 Warm white for TV / Key lighting applications with great success.

With an output of 60 lumens pet watt, the Impression is the brightest fixture in its class, according to Loader. It features 16 bit dimming for smooth and precise color control. What's more, its Luxeon K2 LEDs undergo a strict binning process to ensure the highest consistency in color and performance.

Designed in Germany, the Impression is also extremely compact and lightweight. It can be mounted on a 14” center and weighs just 16 lbs., giving it an “unmatched output lumen to physical weight ratio,” said Loader. Speed is another standout feature of the Impression, thanks to its compact moving mass and state-of-the-art stepper motors. It can pan 660° in 2 seconds and tilt 300° in 1 second, with smooth, accurate movements.

With its many advantages, the Impression has quickly become a popular choice on major concert tours, including AC/DC, Elton John/Billy Joel, John Mayer and Jackson Browne, and will be used in the upcoming No Doubt and Brad Paisley tours this summer. Featuring extremely quiet operation, the Impression has also won a following in the TV/video production market, where its credits include WWE Wrestling and a Hannah Montana concert video.

Now, that it has cETLus approval, said Loader, “we fully anticipate that the Impression will become a major force in theaters, arenas, churches, clubs, and other permanent installations that require UL-listed fixtures.”
