HOSA TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES NEW DA-CAPPO DA12 CARDIOID EARSET MICROPHONE

da12ee_hi.jpgBuena Park, CA – July 2009… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician and audio/video professional, and distributor of Da-Cappo Micro Microphones throughout the Americas, is pleased to announce the introduction of the Da-Cappo DA12 Cardioid Earset Microphone. Featuring a European designed and built capsule with a cardioid polar pattern, the new Da-Cappo DA12 Cardioid makes a perfect choice for vocal performers and others where high SPL (sound pressure level) monitoring would severely restrict gain before feedback.

Derived from Da-Cappo's legendary Omni-directional capsule, the capsule found in the new DA12 Cardioid incorporates a sensitivity rating of -51 dB and a maximum SPL rating of 130 dB—making it well suited for vocal performers who routinely find themselves in loud performance surroundings. The new DA12 Cardioid provides excellent off-axis rejection by using a front-facing capsule engineered to be positioned at the corner of the performer's mouth. As a cardioid polar pattern offers maximum rejection at the rear of the capsule, the new DA12 Cardioid makes a great choice for performers who might otherwise not be able to achieve the desired level due to feedback caused by floor monitors angled directly at them. The new DA12 Cardioid Earset Microphone achieves performance results comparable to side-address microphones costing much more.

Like its DA12 siblings, the new Da-Cappo DA12 Cardioid features a hypoallergenic cushion designed to ensure long wearing-comfort. This cushion conceals a flexible, sprung-steel mechanism that may easily be adjusted to fit ears of all sizes. Similarly, the DA12 Cardioid features the same adjustable microphone boom and modular cable. The DA12 Cardioid is available in coffee, beige, or black. System packages include a lavaliere style mic clip to secure the cable to one's collar behind the head, a zippered leatherette microphone case, a cable, a cable clip, and a pop filter. A wireless adaptor is sold separately.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology's National Marketing Manager, commented on the new DA12 Cardioid Earset Microphone. “The new Da-Cappo DA12 Cardioid shares the performance attributes of its DA12 siblings, but with the notable exception that this model is specifically optimized for use in vocal performance and high SPL monitoring applications,” said Pusey. “By utilizing a cardioid polar pattern, off-axis rejection is considerably greater than is achieved with the Omni-directional models—making this microphone a terrific choice for use by musicians on stage where floor monitors may otherwise limit the ability to achieve the desired microphone level.”

The Da-Cappo DA12 Cardioid Earset Microphone is available now. MSRP for the microphone (coffee, beige, or black) is $477.
