Grif Palmer Leads New Software Company Production Exchange

Press Release July 1, 2010

Lighting industry veteran Grif Palmer and a group of private investors have formed The Production Exchange, an innovative new SaaS software company for the rental and staging production industry. The Production Exchange's first offering is Lite Exchange, a software-based middleware platform that enables increased show logistics efficiency and equipment utilization. The product is based on the Lite Exchange, a software platform developed by production company Christie Lites, who were looking for a better way to manage their own sub-rental requirements. The product will now stand alone and be available as a hosted business tool.

As President, Palmer will spearhead the development of product features and introduce this idea to new users throughout the production world. Many years of industry experience at Barco, High End Systems and CORE Systems gives Grif a unique perspective and ability to enable new companies. “I've spent my career networking and helping people grow their businesses. I was really impressed by the feedback we got from existing users of the Lite Exchange regarding the future for this new productivity tool,” says Palmer. “The overriding question owners have to ask is are they open to using new ways to increase business and bottom line? This product will be a no brainer for many who want an easy-to-deploy tool that help them get jobs out the door faster, at a competitive price and helps keep their gear busy.”

Production Exchange/ Lite Exchange began as an online business-to-business portal dedicated to lighting equipment sub-rental. Unlike other online directories or business resources, Lite Exchange provides users with up-to-date availability information for a given piece of lighting or production equipment. The next version of the product will introduce Video Exchange and Audio Exchange, as well as allow the user to create and control their own network, and incorporate an array of new features.
