This May, production glue joined internationally renowned contemporary arts organization Frieze on Randall's Island for the inaugural Frieze Art Fair New York.

The London-based organization tapped production glue to work with them to introduce the Frieze Art Fair to the United States. Frieze invited over 180 of the world's leading contemporary galleries to exhibit beneath a 225,000 square foot 1,400 foot long bespoke tent designed by Brooklyn architectural firm SO-IL. The event location on Randall's Island is a 100% greenfield site, requiring a complete infrastructure build, including all utilities, restrooms, off-premise kitchens, guest services, VIP spaces, and temperature/humidity controlled environments.

And, we are pleased to announce that production glue, Frieze and Karl's Event Services have set two Guinness World Records for the largest temporary stage and the largest single-unit marquee in the United States.

At the forefront of contemporary art, the four-day exhibition scheduled “Frieze Talks,” “Frieze Sounds,” and “Frieze Projects” – presentations, panel discussions, and specialty works from top artists, writers, and commentators from around the world.

Visitors also enjoyed VIP lounges, a comprehensive bookstore, an exceptional Sculpture Park, and favored NYC restaurateurs: The Fat Radish, Roberta's, Frankies Spuntino, Sant Ambroeus, Intelligentsia Coffee, as well as trendy food trucks (including ice cream sandwich purveyor Coolhaus, and The Standard Biergarten).

In preparation–and faced with a 25-day load-in–production glue spearheaded multiple roles. As overall site managers, glue oversaw all on-site logistics and coordinated the transportation of over 1,400 tractor trailers over the course of the project and installed temporary power and an HVAC system with over 8,000,000 watts of power. production glue also served as the exhibitor services management team and coordinated the exhibit needs of the participating galleries. Additionally, production glue supervised all permit procurement and catering infrastructure, and oversaw the development and implementation of the transportation plan for guests, visitors, and staff for the entire duration of the project.

As we wrap up 44 days on Randall's Island, production glue would like to thank Frieze for inviting us to participate in this milestone event as an execution partner.

We welcome the renowned Frieze Art Fair to New York City.
