Felix Lighting is First in the US to Acquire Clay Paky ShotLight Wash Fixtures

ShotLightLa Mirada, California-based Felix Lighting has purchased a complement of 26 ShotLight Wash fixtures, brand new to the market from Clay Paky. A.C.T Lighting, the distributor of Clay Paky lighting instruments in North America, finalized the sale.

"By investing in a large package of ShotLight Wash fixtures, Felix Lighting positions itself on the leading edge of today's lighting technology," says Bob Gordon, president and CEO of A.C.T Lighting. "ShotLight Wash is a totally new kind of projector that combines an extraordinary 1500W discharge lamp washlight two 1500w strobes in one device. With Clay Paky's ShotLight Wash Felix Lighting offers its clients a unique new product that will expand their creative horizons."

Felix Lighting is dedicated to integrating high-tech LED and automated intelligent lights with conventional instruments and supporting a client base that includes concerts, shows, special events, permanent installations and others.

"We're proud to be the first company in the US to acquire Clay Paky's new ShotLight Wash fixtures," says Felix Lighting owner David McKinnon. "We believe these amazing, versatile instruments will be a big hit with our customers who will now be able to combine wash and strobe capabilities in one device."

In the ShotLight Wash fixture the wash and strobe functions are perfectly integrated and can be operator-controlled with either simultaneous or separate operation and special effects. The strobe function is provided by two semi-circular Xenon lamps working independently: They can either flash together or separately, at different frequencies.

The washlight section boasts an optical unit with extremely high luminous efficiency. It has an 11º-74º electronic zoom; CMY color system, two color wheels and linear Golden CTO; indexable and rotating ovalizing filter; "diamond effect" filter; frost filter; 0-100% hybrid dimmer; and three-phase pan/tilt motor for perfectly silent operation. Its modular construction provides easy maintenance.

The ShotLight Wash's strobe section is comprised of two special curved, pulsed Xenon lamps, each 1500W with a 500-hour lamp life. It features a special shape mirror reflector; 0-100% intensity control with blinding effect; a flash rate of 0-16Hz; and pre-set strobe effects and strobe/wash effects. It also has automatic over-temperature safety and automatic safety blackout in case of unstable frequency.

"We're excited about taking delivery of Clay Paky's ShotLight Wash fixtures and are eager to put them to work," McKinnon says.
