EAW® Gears Up for Strong Prolight + Sound and Beyond

Company introduces all-new “Avalon by EAW” elite dance club loudspeakers

Prolight + Sound, Frankfurt, Germany, March 21, 2012 – EAW® (Halle 8.0, Stand F21), a world leader in audio system technology for over 30 years, is enjoying a strong showing at Prolight + Sound and elsewhere, with new products impressing ears from Frankfurt to Miami and worldwide.

At Prolight + Sound, EAW will be featuring several of its most critically-acclaimed loudspeakers, including models from the VF and QX Series, as well as a 16-module KF740 loudspeaker array using the new zero degree adapter accessory. Two SB2001 dual 21-in Subwoofers and two Powercubeâ„¢ dedicated power and processing modules will complement the KF740 rig. EAW is also performing a bi-continental launch of its all-new “Avalon by EAW” elite dance club loudspeakers – in addition to displaying them at Prolight + Sound, they are holding a full live demonstration at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, Florida, USA, March 21-25, at the Delano Hotel Pool.

Avalon by EAW represents a radical departure from any dance club loudspeaker system ever created, including EAW's own original Avalon units. EAW has once again partnered with legendary club designer John Lyons to produce a line of loudspeaker systems that will be his legacy to this industry. Lyons' dictate for the Avalon Series was clear: to break new ground, performing like no other and setting a new standard for power and clarity, while taking loudspeaker design itself to uncharted territory. The first two products in the series do all of the above. The radical design turns the loudspeaker inside-out, mounting the exposed MF/HF horn in front of the grille. Avalon by EAW also offers perfect acoustical symmetry in both the vertical and horizontal dimensions. The aesthetics are also revolutionary, as no other loudspeaker has ever reached the heights of industrial design that Avalon by EAW does. Fittingly, there is no such thing as a standard-order Avalon Series loudspeaker. Each and every order must choose from among eight “fitment” options with five color options. Also, product distribution and installation require specific review, approval, inspection and certification from EAW's Application Support Group. The goal is to ensure that each and every Avalon installation is an absolute gem.

The VF family of products, consisting of five models of VFR Two-Way Full-Range Loudspeakers, two VFS Subwoofers, and three VSM Stage Monitors, represents a new approach to the needs of professional audio from EAW, combining a hybrid of portable and install features in one package. VF products were engineered with a robust design, including uncompromised sound quality for multiple applications with clean blended lines, rigging, and transformer options desired in an installation product. Extremely versatile, these new units offer outstanding sound quality and power for value, and the boxes feature a clean, consistent design with an elegant style. The VF Series is intended for both portable and install applications and environments, including auditoriums, theaters, nightclubs and DJ setups, bars, music performances, houses of worship, mobile churches, etc. At Prolight + Sound, EAW will be showing all three VSM Stage Monitors, both VFS Subwoofers and VFR159 and VFR129 Full-range loudspeakers.

EAW is also exhibiting its acclaimed QX Series loudspeakers, optimized for installed system applications that require precise directivity in a powerful low-profile form. Engineered and assembled at EAW's Whitinsville, Massachusetts, USA facility, the QX Series provides size-efficient yet very high output point source clusters. The series is particularly geared toward medium-to-large-sized spaces including sports arenas but is also designed for houses of worship, outdoor stadiums, performing arts venues, theaters and clubs.

At the booth, EAW will be displaying a 16-module KF740 loudspeaker array featuring the all-new zero degree adapter accessory and SB2001 Subwoofers. The KF740/SB2001 array will be displayed with EAW Powercube power and processing modules featuring both supported amplification options: Powersoft® and LAB.gruppen®. EAW Powercubes include EAW Red Certificationâ„¢ training – a two-day training seminar at users' shops to ensure that all users get absolutely consistent performance from their KF740 rig or from any Red Certified KF740 rig that is cross-rented.
