Daktronics, Upstage Video Return for Encore Appearance at All Points West Music Festival

BROOKINGS, S.D. — July 28, 2009 — Roughly a year after lighting up the 2008 All Points West Music & Arts Festival at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, N.J., Daktronics and Upstage Video, a leading provider of large-scale portable video screens, have announced that they will return for the festival's 2009 encore with a set of towering PST-12HD modular video displays that will bring live video to the main stage.

“We are honored to be working with one of the biggest names in portable large-scale video (Upstage Video) to help light up the main stage at All Points West again,” said Myron Linde, Daktronics mobile and modular sales manager. “Upstage Video excels at putting on a good show for event attendees.”

The modular displays, measuring18' x 32' each, will show colorful crowd prompts, sponsor advertisements and live concert footage throughout the weekend as several of the biggest names in music, including Coldplay, Jay-Z and My Bloody Valentine, will take the stage before tens of thousands of fans from July 31-Aug. 2.

“Last year was big, but this year should be even bigger,” said Doug Murray of Upstage Video. “With this said, we needed an elite product that could provide high-quality video along with quick setup and teardown. Daktronics PST-12HD panels were hands-down the best fit.”

Additional displays, including a 9' x 16' PST-12HD display at the event entrance and a 9' x 16' mobile Daktronics LED display unit, will be used to welcome guests and provide festival information to attendees.

Designed for optimal outdoor visibility, PST-12HD panels use a unique staggered pixel layout to offer ultra-wide viewing angles, premium image contrast and high brightness for outdoor events. A modular, building-block platform allows users to combine individual panels together to form massive displays in a matter of minutes.

“The PST-12HD design allows the screen to cut through even direct sunlight, giving fans a premium view of the action regardless of how bright the sun is,” said Linde. “This makes it an ideal product for a festival like All Points West that goes on throughout the entire day.”

The festival, produced by Goldenvoice/AEG Live and Liberty Event in association with the HighLine Ballroom, will begin on Friday, July 31with a headlining performance by Jay-Z, continue on throughout the weekend, and then conclude on Sunday, Aug. 2 with a performance by Coldplay.
