Monday, October 13 is the first day that all the actors in The Bridge Project gather in the same room: a transatlantic company under the direction of Sam Mendes with such stars as Simon Russell Beale, Sinead Cusak, and Ethan Hawke. Co-produced by BAM in NY (Joe Melillo), The Old Vic in London (Kevin Spacey), and Neal Street Productions (Mendes), the company will perform The Cherry Orchard and A Winter's Tale in Brooklyn and London as well as Auckland, Singapore, Madrid, and Recklinghausen.
The designers for this ambitious project are Anthony Ward (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Paul Pyant (lighting), and Paul Arditti (sound). I may be wrong, but if they actually went for parity in terms of US and UK actors, there are more British designers than Americans, but it looks like a stellar design team no matter their nationalities!
