Club Amnesia, a former staple in the South Beach club scene, caters to the beautiful people of Miami once again. After months of renovations, the multi-level nightclub became a state-of-the-art venue featuring 87 CHAUVET® fixtures.
Hundreds of party goers flocked to the newly redesigned, 26,000-square-foot hot spot on Miami Beach to hear DJ Bob Sinclair, also co-owner of Club Amnesia http://amnesiamiami.com/, rock the beats and take part in the nightclub's grand reopening celebration. The once open-air venue now features a roof, a vast dance floor, 70 VIP tables, two private VIP sections and revamped sound and lighting systems. Michael Stone, vice president for HMS Inc., specified the incorporation of 30 COLORadoâ„¢ 2 Tour, 30 COLORdashâ„¢ Accent, eight COLORadoâ„¢ 1 IP and seven COLORadoâ„¢ 3p IP wash lights. Lighting Designer Maxime Moussier created Club Amnesia's extensive, yet intricate, lighting design.
The club's outside area, including the landscaping and landmark stone head sculpture, is illuminated by eight COLORadoâ„¢ 1 IP and seven COLORadoâ„¢ 3p IP wash lights controlled with a grandMA2 lighting console. Stone specified these fixtures for permanent, outdoor installation because they project a crisp, saturated wash and can withstand the humid, and sometimes harsh, weather conditions in Miami.
The club's ultra-chic interior design features décor designed to make you feel like the party is outside under the Miami moon. Club goers can lounge on contemporary, white furniture amidst indoor greenery that softly glow with light projected from 30 COLORdashâ„¢ Accent wash lights. Stone specified the installation of 12 D-Fiâ„¢ PLUS wireless DMX transmitters and receivers to provide wireless DMX control to the fixtures. Mounted to six pieces of motorized truss (five circular and one-cross shaped) and controlled using a grandMA2 lighting console, the massive lighting rig includes 30 COLORadoâ„¢ 2 Tour wash lights creating a seamless wash and sultry, ambient lighting. The club also boasts a Funktion One sound system, a main stage with five grand-format LED screens programmed with moving capabilities, and a DJ booth and stage with LED color-mixing capabilities.
It took Ludo Leroy, director of product management for HMS, Inc., and his team of technicians nearly five months to complete the installation at Club Amnesia. This type of installation was a unique project for HMS, Inc. since the company specializes in entertainment installations within the marine industry.
“The installation at Club Amnesia was the diving board for HMS, Inc.,” Stone said. “Though it wasn't the first land installation, it was certainly the biggest and we are all very excited.”
