Coemar StripLite LEDs Anchor Top-Notch Lighting Installation for Shamokin High School Auditorium

CoemarWhen Shamokin High School in Coal Township, Pennsylvania needed to replace the stage lighting in its auditorium with more efficient and better-performing fixtures, it turned to Coemar for a complement of high-end LEDs and PARs.

"The school's dimmers were failing, and it badly needed new fixtures and an upgraded infrastructure," reports Corey Eslinger of Eslinger Lighting, a full-service entertainment lighting company and Coemar dealer in Enola, Pennsylvania. "We demo'd Coemar's Striplite LED and a competitive product and the school chose Coemar hands down."

"The high school was sold on using LEDs because of the cost savings," says Mark Mattocks who designed the installation, the first of its kind in Pennsylvania. "When they saw the Coemar fixture head-to-head with the competition the school preferred the Coemar's color temperature. They liked the warmer look of the 3200 color skew."

Shamokin High School purchased 36 StripLite LEDs which offer between 75 and 82 percent energy savings compared to traditional technology at the same brightness. The StripLites are long-lasting sources with RGB+White color mixing. They have no fan, require no maintenance and produce no noise and feature electronic dimming plus electronic strobe, synch, random and pulse effects.

In addition, the school took delivery of 12 Coemar RGB PARs, a dozen white PARs and an ETC Ion lighting console.

Mattocks designed the grid using existing rigging and adding 56 dimmers and 40 non-dimmers. He also rewired some existing electrics.

The new lighting package made its debut at the high school's spring musical production of "Guys and Dolls."

"The StripLites are pretty top-notch for an LED fixture," notes Mattocks. "I really like their dimming feature, and the lamp is great. In general, I love Coemar lights and have had nothing but excellent service from ICD."
