Los Angeles-based audio visual rental and staging company, American Hi Definition, Inc., supported the 61st Primetime Emmy(r) Awards live telecast from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE with six Christie Roadster HD18K projectors. American Hi Definition, Inc. is a veteran of previous Emmy telecasts and chose Christie projectors once again for the prominent television and media awards show.
The star-studded audience and home viewers feasted their eyes on a glittering set that consisted of two large rear-projection screens set back on the stage and raised on an upper tier. The six Christie Roadster HD18K projectors fed various graphic elements, ranging from a collage of network logos and stylized views of the elegant Emmy Statuette to video clips of nominees on a 13.5 x 24-foot screen at camera left and a 13.5 x 48-foot primary screen at camera right.
Two Christie Roadster HD18K projectors were overlaid to create images for the smaller of the two screens. The projectors were double stacked and blended to deliver images to the primary screen. The Christie Roadster HD18K 3-chip DLP(r) projectors are part of Christie's HD series featuring the brightest, native HD-resolution projectors. With a 1920x1080 native resolution for crisp, detailed images, the Christie Roadster HD18K projectors are lightweight, 10% brighter than the competition and consume less power.

Once again, the Christie Roadster HD18K projectors proved reliable during a mission-critical live telecast viewed by millions. Earlier this year, American Hi Definition, Inc. used the same projectors at the 51st Grammy Awards telecast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
