Sapphire Media

USA – Avolites Media is heading Stateside this month to show off its award-winning Sapphire Media Infinity System.

The pioneering media server technology, developed by forward-thinking R&D team at Avolites Media, will be exhibited for the first time in the USA at the annual LDI show Las Vegas, 19-21 October 2012 at Las Vegas Convention Center.

Avolites Media will be at Creative Stage Lighting’s stand, the company’s US distributor, on Booth, # 1129. Friendly, helpful staff from both companies will be on hand to demonstrate the much talked about and press reported capability of the system.

Since its groundbreaking use on major events in the UK and beyond the Sapphire Media Infinity System has been the talk of the entertainment technology industry and, at the PLASA show, it won the much-coveted PLASA Award for Innovation with PLASA judges commenting: “It’s the first integrated video control surface dedicated to video. It’s well thought out and well designed.”

Steve Warren, managing director for Avolites Media comments: “The Avolites Media team is looking forward to demonstrating our latest system at October’s Live Design International (LDI) show, Las Vegas. We’re delighted to report that the last 12 months have seen our flagship product, the Ai Infinity Media Server, and subsequently the Sapphire Media Console, deliver some of the richest and most electrifying visual feasts for the most stunning, internationally televised events and live performance shows on earth.”

The Avolites Media team is keen to introducing the Sapphire Media console to the US market. A feature rich media control console, the Sapphire Media marks an industry first. Designed and manufactured in the UK, the console offers video operators and designers an intuitive, hands on, live show control surface that facilitates a seamless blend of visual elements in real time.

The Sapphire Media control surface connects directly to Avolites Media’s flagship product, the Ai Infinity Media servers. It features two generous wide screen touch surfaces for easy access to the User Interface and Salvation Engine control. Four switchable and assignable touch preview monitors are also available and can be mapped to any inputs, outputs or video layers.

Further to this, the Sapphire Media offers 15 motorised faders for live control, mappable to content triggers, effects or parameters, a smooth T-Bar for traditional vision mixing, and direct access buttons, pre-assigned to popular features and functions. All controls are user configurable, delivering fully customised functionality.

LDI show visitors will also be able to get their hands on the next forward-looking incarnation in Media Server technology – the Ai Infinity Media Server, which headlines eight Full HD outputs, each of which conveniently features an accompanying preview output.

The feature-loaded Ai Infinity Media Server boasts internal EDID management, LTC and MIDI Time-code, Genloc Input, Multi-Server Frame-sync and Master- Slave remote control.

“Avolites’ extensive touring experience has also added its own unique design advantages to these products,” adds Avolites Media’s, Selvin Cooper. “This includes the comfortable protection of a custom anti-vibration and anti-shock internal floating frame. In addition the easily accessible, intuitive-to-use, front-mounted touch screen panel enables local control, system analysis and remote preview.”

Now in its 25th year, LDI has become the leading tradeshow and conference for live design professionals in North and South America. More than 8,000 attendees working in theatre, concerts, houses of worship, corporate presentations, clubs, theme parks, and any other live venue come to LDI from 72 countries to see the latest gear in action.
