AVIOM SHOWCASES PRO64 NETWORK MANAGER AT PLASA 2010

PC Application Streamlines Workflow and Simplifies Pro64 Series Network Management

LONDON, SEPTEMBER 13, 2010 — Aviom, the exclusive developer of the world's most powerful audio transport protocol, A-Net®, will be demonstrating its Pro64® Network Managerâ„¢ PC control application at PLASA 2010 (Stand 1-F2). The Pro64 Series is uniquely designed with a simple front-panel user interface that makes it possible to create sophisticated audio networks without PC-based programming. Soon to be available as a free download from the company's website, Aviom has now introduced a software control application for those users who desire a centralized control and status monitoring option.aviom_pro64-network-manager-screenshot_plasa-2010.jpg

This new, intuitive, easy-to-use graphical interface provides both global and device-specific information for front of house monitoring, allowing on-screen management of even the most complex audio networks from a single location. With the Pro64 Network Manager, front of house engineers now have remote control of every Pro64 device in a network through a PC connected to the network's Control Master device. Network settings and audio parameters for each Pro64 device can be handled on screen, simplifying channel routing, network management, streamlining the workflow and increasing the flexibility of the network as a whole. Users also have the option of saving device-level presets that can recall commonly used local settings for individual Pro64 modules as well as the ability to save network-wide scenes that can reset an entire network with just one click of the mouse.

Pro64 Network Manager connects to a Pro64 audio network via an RS-232 interface and makes use of its built-in Managed Mode to simplify tasks related to supporting and configuring Pro64 networks. All settings can be monitored, including channel activation and routing, internal/external clock source, sample rate, m-controlâ„¢ setup for remote control of Pro64 mic preamps from a Yamaha digital console, Virtual Data Cablesâ„¢, and firmware update controls. The software further simplifies network and device management by providing location, device and channel naming.

“Building on the inherent strengths of the Pro64 hardware, the Pro64 Network Manager is a useful and intuitive tool that enables mix engineers to manage the entire system from any location within the venue,” explains Aviom's Product Research and Development Manager, Ray Legnini. “The Pro64 Network Manager application increases the flexibility of the Pro64 Series by giving our users, particularly those with permanently installed Pro64 networks, even more setup options to meet their unique on-stage monitoring needs.”

Users need a PC running Windows in order to run the new Pro64 Network Manager PC control application. All existing Pro64 network devices must be updated to firmware version 3.0 or higher to be used. A firmware update utility is built into Pro64 Network Manager to simplify the update process.
