A.C.T Lighting Sells First LiteWare RGB Uplighter HO Fixtures in the US To McCune Audio/Video/Lighting

LiteWare HOMcCune Audio/Video/Lighting, a full-service technical event production company based in San Francisco, is the first American company to acquire the new HO (High Output) version of the GDS LiteWare RGB LED Uplighter. A.C.T Lighting is the exclusive distributor of LiteWare products in North America.

The LiteWare RGB Uplighter provides an ideal solution for today's demanding events. With no cabling required for power or control, the fixtures are deployed in the desired locations by simply switching them on in standalone mode or by utilizing the wireless DMX control option. The immediate success of GDS' original LiteWare UL prompted the launch of the HO version, which offers an impressive eighty watts of LED power for over twelve hours on a single charge. The HO also occupies the same footprint as the UL version and is calibrated to deliver color-matched output.

"There are a lot of venues where a battery-operated light is an essential tool where we're looking to have a low-impact on the venue, power may be limited and there's a limited amount of time to load in and set up," says David Kerr, lighting manager at McCune. "Specifically, we were looking to increase our effectiveness when we work in municipal buildings and museums. We were also looking to fulfill the need for an outdoor fixture for projects in Napa or in private residences."

Kerr considered three or four products from different manufactures and tried several demo units of the LiteWare RGB Uplighter HO supplied by A.C.T. "The LiteWare Uplighter HO had a good color spectrum, significant brightness, a stand alone option and push-button operation," he notes. Its easy-to-use and the six-way flight cases simplify transport and deployment of multiple fixtures; all flight cases are pre-wired with a charging system. "You just roll right in to the event and when it's all done you can charge the whole case," says Kerr. "And there's nothing to lose, and no loose parts."

An extra perk is that the LiteWare Uplighter HO's "chrome finish is a nice design that looks good at any venue."

McCune's first project with its new complement of LiteWare Uplighter HO fixtures was at the Napa Valley Wine Auction at the Meadowood Resort in Napa. The company subsequently used the Uplighters in a booth outside a major sports venue in Southern California where they "added lots of flair" and at an airport-based event at the prestigious annual Concours d'Elegance, billed as "a banquet of events for automobile enthusiasts and connoisseurs of culture," in Pebble Beach.

"So far the lights are fantastic!" Kerr reports.

"David 'got it' the very first time he saw the LiteWare Uplighter," comments A.C.T Lighting President and CEO Bob Gordon. Instead of thinking of them as an expense, he saw their true value as an asset. He knew how they would bring value to his customers."
