A.C Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET) Ltd's specialist Audio division recently hosted two dedicated open days in conjunction with Yamaha, to showcase the acclaimed new Yamaha CL series of digital mixing consoles.

Staged at both AC-ET's Northern office in Leeds and Southern HQ in High Wycombe, the events were very well attended with a wide cross-section of attendees representing many different industry sectors - including rental and staging companies, educational establishments, theatres, sound engineers and a variety of venue staff.

Three identical sessions were run each day in both locations to offer maximum flexibility, enabling interested parties to attend at their own convenience.

Each session started with the CL series launch presentation followed by a Q&A session, and then a full hands-on workshop, allowing guests to discover first hand and in-depth, the innovative and advanced features behind the CL Series.

Lunch and refreshments were provided throughout the day and A.C. Audio staff were on hand to offer their vast knowledge and expertise in the pro audio market.

Guests at the High Wycombe event included Kyle Sepede, a Technician from the Wycombe Swan Theatre, who comments, “I found the session on Dante networking especially interesting. The consoles were very easy to use and AC-ET had a very good training facility, with extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff.”

Bryn Rosenwould, Head of Sound at Venue Cymru attended the Leeds event and explains how this was a “Fantastic opportunity for our team to get their hands on the new Yamaha desk in a relaxed environment. The A.C. team gave us a warm welcome as usual and the Yamaha representatives were very helpful and patient with our questions.” He adds that he was “Very impressed with how the desks utilised all the best bits of previous Yamaha consoles, with a whole load of very exciting new additions.”

Also in attendance at the Leeds event was Dan Lounds of the The College Street Centre, who found the open day “Very useful and informative. The hands on demonstrations were essential and the session was led extremely well.”

AC-ET's Audio Sales Manager, Peter Butler highlights that it was the ideal opportunity for those unable to get to the Series' launch at Prolight+Sound, to have a proper look at the consoles in a relaxed and informative environment.

The CL Series currently comprises three consoles, designed for all scales of show – CL1, CL3 and CL5. These range from 48 – 72 mono inputs, plus eight stereo inputs and all feature 16 DCAs and 24 mix / eight matrix output buses.

AC-ET is amongst the first of a selection of high-end European Yamaha dealers to take stock of the brand new flagship Yamaha CL5 model.
