5 Star Cases reports a healthy response and another very successful ABTT event in spite of the London Underground strike clashing with both days of the show!
On display was a selection of cases including the new Arena road trunk, launched recently to fill the gap between cheap, low quality imported cases and the high spec touring grade units for which 5 Star is renowned. The Arena range is sensibly priced but not compromising on quality or durability. It's aimed at small to medium sized rental companies, and is a serious road case that should tick all the boxes in these economically challenged times! Three sizes are currently available, all with a range of options including trays and dividers.
Also shown was a pre-production prototype from the forthcoming 'LX-2' range. 5 Star used the show as a valuable forum to glean customer feedback and opinions. The LX-2 is a brand new style of case designed to house small to medium sized equipment of all types, and will be officially launched at PLASA 09.
Much interest was also shown in the Stage Manager Desk, a custom built product from 5 Star's Special Projects division. Although most desks are built to individual requirements, the one on display was typical of the units supplied and included a 19" rack bay, slide out drawer and removable access panels. All SM Desks are manufactured from a combination of CNC machined 18 mm birch plywood and MDF. A variety of features are available including vent slots, connector dishes and recessed handles, and the desks are finished in a smart, hard wearing textured black paint.
Keith Sykes, 5 Star's Managing Director commented, "The tube strike didn't dampen any enthusiasm, and we found the show to be extremely buoyant, positive and convivial, with a good selection of quality visitors." Last year was the company's first ABTT Show, and it will "certainly" be on the exhibition calendar in the future he confirms.
