5 Star Cases exhibited for the first time at the biennial Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) in Hampshire, UK, to boost its presence in the aerospace sector. FIA is an iconic global aviation event with a prominent position on the international aerospace calendar.

5 Star's booth was designed and manufactured in-house, featuring a stylish, fresh corporate appearance, complete with the company's famous branding. The booth was maximised with some creative space management, displaying many products as well as incorporating a small seating and hospitality area.

Products on display included two 19” rack systems, finished in desert sand powder coated hardware and extrusions, plus a new concept in transit solutions - 'Euro-Crate'.

'Euro-Crate' is a simple transit solution enabling irregular shaped items to be transported in safety by using a shock-mounted internal baseboard and a matrix of adjustable tie-down shackles and ratchet straps. Intermediate 200 mm case sections are then inserted to the desired height - to fit the equipment being transported - and finally the lid is secured. Available in various standard case sizes or custom built to specific requirements, the ‘Euro-Crate' attracted huge interest and many visitors to the 5 Star booth.

Also shown for the first time by 5 Star was a small selection from the Peli® range of roto-moulded cases. 5 Star is now a distributor of this high quality brand of waterproof cases - a favourite for film and video crews, photographers and all applications needing extremely durable, lightweight and portable protection in transit. This strengthens 5 Star's already extensive and diverse portfolio of casing options.

Managing Director Keith Sykes said, “5 Star is extremely well known in the entertainment sector but never to rest on our laurels, we are keen to grow and expand into other market sectors. The FIA gave us the perfect opportunity, with the show's trade days (the first five days are traditionally trade only, followed by a weekend that is opened up to the public) seeing plenty of ‘quality' interest in the products and the company”.

He adds, “Work now starts on turning all the inquiries into something tangible. We look forward to increasing our presence in the aerospace sector and will have no hesitation to participate in the 2012 event”
