5 Star Cases is once again exhibiting at the ABTT Theatre Show in central London – on June 16th & 17th, showing all its latest products relevant to the theatre, performing arts and presentation sectors.

The latest new product is a portable lectern system, which comes complete with integral Heavy Industrial grade case. This has been developed to address all the frustrating and time consuming issues surrounding setting up lecterns!
5 Star's stylish lectern is manufactured from birch plywood which is CNC machined at their factory in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire on one of three Thermwood CNC machining centres. It is aimed at AV rental companies operating in the conference and presentation sectors, and anyone needing a quick and tasteful looking lectern set up, with the major advantage of being fully protected in transit and also ultra-portable with a flightcase.
It features a sloping work area to accommodate laptops or papers, with easy cable access via a series of slots machined into the body of the lectern.
Two basic styles are available. The first incorporates a 12U 19 inch rack mount area for AV equipment like radio mic transmitters, audio processing, DVDs and media players. The second option has modern aesthetics to the fore, but without the rack mount area. Both are physically identical in exterior dimensions, and so will fit in to the same standard case.
Some customisation to the standard layouts is also possible, e.g. extra cable slots or CNC machined logos, and three colours are currently available - black, grey and white. The flight cases can be any one of seven standard colours available from 5 Star.
5 Star's ‘Arena' range of trunks will also be highlighted, complete with a new range of versatile removable rack sleeves, also manufactured from CNC machined plywood, complete with durable synthetic textured finish. All the sleeves are 19 inch standard rack mount from 1 - 6U.
Arena provides all the usual top quality 5 Star construction combined with a tough specification suitable for road use – in addition to being carefully value-engineered to alleviate any strains on the finances. Featuring a durable ply carcass with smart High Pressure Laminate (HPL) finishing, the Arena range is constructed using 5 Star's regular glue-and-pin method and finished with the usual superior quality Penn-Elcom hardware.
