Rally On The River For US Open

Momentum Worldwide hired Bionic League to produce American Express' Rally On The River event, as part of the pre-US Open Tennis Championship week. Incorporating archival footage, abstract design, high-speed water footage, and CG effects, Invisible Light Network (ILN) produced VS, a short film which told the story two-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharipova. Using four 20K Barco projectors, the film was displayed on a 40' x 60' screen of falling water suspended over the Hudson River at Manhattan's Pier 97. Elliot Kealoha Blanchard was ILN's creative director for the film. The second part of the event featured interactive games between professional all-stars and celebrities as well as American Express guests in the crowd who had "glowing" tennis balls. Led by creative directors Kamil Nawratil and Pa Her, VolvoxLabs (VVOX) created the interactive elements and visuals that translated in realtime to racket movements, hits, and the tennis ball itself.
